Why Does Electric Vehicle Charging Stop Automatically?

One of the issues that may occur at electric vehicle charging stations is the charging session stopping automatically and unexpectedly. This situation is not caused by the software or mobile applications. It is generally caused by infrastructure or grounding issues, or by the vehicle's own protection mechanisms. Electric vehicles may stop charging and switch to "suspendEV" mode. This is a precaution taken to ensure charging safety and efficiency.

We would like to note that such interruptions are generally vehicle-related. The vehicle checks the grounding conditions, stops the charging session and switches to SuspendedEV mode. We would like to emphasize that this situation is not related to the charging unit or its software and that the same issue may occur with all charging units and operators. This interruption occurs in order to maintain safety between the vehicle and the electrical infrastructure.

Especially for TOGG vehicle owners, when the latest software version is used, the grounding requirement has been reduced to below 1.5 ohms. This reduces the vehicle's sensitivity to grounding conditions and helps prevent charging interruptions. However, where infrastructure or grounding-related issues occur, support is provided by charging service providers.
